Auburntown is a town located in Cannon County, Tennessee, United States. As of the 2020 census, the population was 296 residents. The town was named after the "burnt orange" color of the local soil. The town has a total area of 0.5 square miles (1.3 km²), all of it land.
Auburntown has a small downtown area with a few businesses, including a Dollar General and a post office. The town is also home to an elementary school, Auburn Elementary School. Auburntown is located near the center of Cannon County and is surrounded by rolling hills and farmland.
The town has a rich history, with its first post office established in 1818. Auburntown was also a stop on the stagecoach route from Nashville to Chattanooga. Today, the town is known for its annual Octoberfest celebration, which includes a parade, live music, and other family-friendly activities.
Auburntown is located about 50 miles southeast of Nashville and is within driving distance of several state parks, including Edgar Evins State Park and Rock Island State Park.
